Our History:
In October of 1974, Gene Nelson started Wallcovering Ltd. in a small rental space on the second floor of what used to be a packaging plant at the corner of Front Street and Dekalb Pike in Bridgeport, PA. With little startup funds, but an intense desire to succeed and a small amount of inventory that a distant relative placed in the store on consignment, Gene set out to beat the odds and turn Wallcovering Ltd. into a success.
Within five years, not only had Wallcovering Ltd. become a success in its namesake industry, but had expanded into flooring, cabinetry, and other kitchen and bath materials as well. The small second-floor space had expanded as well, in fact Gene was able to purchase the building and turn the entire first and second floors into showroom, office, and warehouse space for the quickly growing business.
Throughout the mid-to-late 1980s, Wallcovering Ltd. established itself as one of the most comprehensive outlets for cabinetry, flooring, countertops, faucets and plumbing fixtures, and of course wallpaper in the Delaware Valley. But with the advent of the "big box" home improvement stores, the industry began to change and it was time for Wallcovering Ltd. to change with it.
The 1990s introduced a new focus for Wallcovering Ltd.: custom design and the highest quality products for remodeling projects in fine homes. Over the past two decades, Wallcovering Ltd. has become known as the "one-stop shop" for all of the products and services one might need for remodeling a kitchen, bathroom, or any other room in the home, along with the expertise required to join all of these products together into a cohesive design that is both functional and beautiful.
March 2008 marked the launch of Doma Kitchen & Bath Showroom at Wallcovering Ltd., a new and more appropriate name for the same business we've been doing successfully for decades: unique, creative designs and the best quality materials for transforming your house into the home you've always dreamt of.
